a little more about me

welcome.

i’m shannon! a compassionate, direct, creative, therapist and art therapist based in california.

As an expressive art therapist, I often integrate creative modalities into my work whether it be traditional art-making or somatic work. I take a holistic and integrative approach, incorporating psychodynamic, relational, narrative and humanistic modalities. My therapeutic work aims to invite collaboration, connection, depth and a bit of levity. I hope to be a soft place to land for all types of souls.

As a highly sensitive teenager who struggled with anxiety and depression, finding both therapy and art made a profound impact on how I saw, operated, and engaged with the world. Since then, my passion for spreading and sharing growth and healing has only increased. In all of my work, I strive to bring kindness, creativity, curiosity, and cultural humility.

I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Gender and Sexuality Studies from Tulane University. Outside of having extensive psychotherapy experience providing holistic trauma-informed care to many individuals, couples and families, I am a professor and artist. I love naps, listening to R&B while cooking up a fantastic dinner, or spending the day wandering around a museum.

I look forward to meeting you!
